Singapore, 29 May 2026 – Hydra X has been appointed custodian for ALKN, a tokenised structure providing exposure to approximately 7 million linear metres of 99.99% purity nickel wire. The underlying asset has been independently valued at approximately US$1.64 billion, as set out in Edison Group’s initiation report.

As tokenisation expands into a broader range of real-world assets, the infrastructure supporting those assets becomes increasingly important. For institutional investors, this includes how tokens are held, the regulatory framework governing their custody, and how ownership rights are recorded, safeguarded and enforced.

Regulated custody provides an important part of that institutional framework, particularly as tokenised assets extend beyond conventional financial instruments into physical assets and other new investment structures.

Hydra X’s role as custodian for ALKN reflects the growing importance of institutional-grade custody infrastructure in supporting the development and adoption of tokenised markets.
